When I was a kid, I hated vanilla. Vanilla ice cream, vanilla
cookies, vanilla anything. I always had chocolate or, better yet, went for something
that looked different (the pistachio-avocado ice-cream looked like it needed to
be eaten). It’s been the same in many of my choices in life in general – challenging
myself in areas where most people would think twice, choosing one of the more
difficult, less travelled roads to see where I would end up. In most cases, I have
come out on top, but not without a few battle scars along the way. It wasn’t until
recently that I realised that I actually enjoyed vanilla (yay vanilla bean ice
cream!) which made me come to a wonderful realisation. While it can be
enthralling to try something new and daring, sometimes plain old vanilla is
just what the doctor ordered.

Your vanilla outfit is more interesting than most people's chocolate one :) I love the print of the blouse and the elegant jewellery. The older I'm getting the more I'm enjoying things that I would have once considered vanilla like routine and simplicity of life. We missed you tonight!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea behind this post - vanilla, both literally and figuratively, is something it took me time to grow into, but now I definitely prefer it {at least when it comes to dessert!} But... this outfit is anything but vanilla! The fringe detailling on your boots and the bright pattern on your blouse completely bring it to life. Absolutely beautiful.

though I'm not a fan of the scent of vanilla I do like the colour :) sometimes it's the perfect finishing touch to an outfit. the simple sweater looks great with the patterned blouse.
ReplyDeleteGreat look - love the colours and pattern of your blouse!
